‘Astro futurist punk from 2099 mixed with psychedelic vibes from the 70s, 80s Italo-disco crossed with 90s electronica'. These are the words that record label Gomma used to describe Munk's latest album. Mathias Modica, the sole member of the group, is none other than the co-founder of this quality label, a member of the same upper spheres as DFA, for example. Munk is one of those artists who refuses to fit in the boxes, without at the same time denying his influences. So Cloudbuster is a colourful disk, drawing its force and inspiration from the long history of dance music. The first section of the album perfectly illustrates this state of mind: ‘Live Fast! Die Old!', sung by Asia Argento, is a pearl of gnarly disco funk. Even our very own Busy P (aka Pedro Winter) has fallen in love with this track, which could have you dancing in your grave. BJ
