ROBERT STADLER
Emmanuel Perrotin continues, after a premier exhibition of the work of Eric Benque this year, promoting and representing designers with this exhibition of work Dissipations by the Paris based, Austrian born designer. An apparently random jumble of mind-boggling furniture, (constructed by the artist by way of his own secret industrial and hand-crafted methods) fills the halls and garden of the gallery, showcasing some of Stadler's most astonishing works of experimentation and fantasy. An iron chair with the appearance of a kitchen sponge and a mirror that self-activates when the viewer approaches are just two of the dizzying pieces that are presented, making a unique scramble of sculpture and furniture. A l'occasion de Dissipations, sa première exposition personnelle à la Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin, Robert Stadler présente un ensemble de nouveaux projets, dont une série de meubles, sorte de plateformes, composées de plusieurs modules superposés tels des strates. Une mystérieuse force semble avoir perturbé l'ordre statique de ces éléments, qui se trouvent ré-organisés suivant une logique fluctuante. Les différents matériaux employés correspondent aux diverses fonctions du meuble: le cuir pour l'assise, le bois laqué pour les tablettes et le tissu pour les autres parties. Une autre création se compose d'une chaise et d'un guéridon de jardin.
